Clear definitions for the concepts used across PlayersB comparisons, profiles, and tools.

Goals per shot #

An efficiency indicator showing how often a shot becomes a goal. Useful alongside shot volume.

Minutes #

Total playing time. High totals can reflect durability or role; always pair with per-90 rates for context.

Per-90 #

A rate statistic that scales output to a 90-minute match so players with different minutes can be compared fairly.

Minutes Normalization Rate stats

Role #

The tactical job a player performs (e.g., target striker, pressing winger). Role changes how stats should be interpreted.

Minutes Position

Shot accuracy #

Percentage of shots that are on target. A quick proxy for finishing quality and decision making.

Goals per shot Shots on target

Shots per 90 #

Shot volume normalized to a full match. Highlights how often a player gets attempts.

Per-90 Volume

Touches in box #

How often a player gets touches in the penalty area. Often correlated with goal involvement.

Shots Role

Volume vs efficiency #

Volume reflects how often actions occur (shots/90), while efficiency reflects how well they convert (goals per shot).

xA (Expected Assists) #

An estimate of the likelihood a pass becomes an assist based on chance quality. Useful for evaluating creative output.

Assists Chance creation

xG (Expected Goals) #

An estimate of scoring probability based on shot quality, location, and context. Used to separate chance quality from finishing.
